LaRue Mills farmhouse sits very close to,
but not on, the St. Lawrence River in the
heart of the 1000 Islands. We are surrounded
by 3 acres of privacy, an old farm property
with sunny glades, old gardens, a creek in
a ravine, forest trails through granite ridges,
and an old millpond and waterfall. The airy,
spacious, and graceful farmhouse was built
in 1908, and all it's features are intact:
original doors, trim, wood floors, with the
benefit of a brand-new updated kitchen and
dining room with French doors leading out
to a large, sunny deck. You may sunbathe
in total privacy. The huge living room has
a stone hearth and efficient fireplace, and
there's an enclosed fron porch. Upstairs,
3 bedrooms can sleep 8 people. The interior
is pastel, light, and airy, and the house
is fully loaded for your comfort.
You can swim nearby at a clean, sandy, provincial
beach, or tour the 1000 Islands by one of
the 3 tour boats within a 10-minute drive.
We're adjacent to a 20 mile bicycle path,
and 10 minutes from the bridge to the USA.
This is a perfect haven for exploring the
1000 islands and eastern Ontario. |
